Nurya was a mentally ill beggar. It is cleared that he was a mental patient based on the unbalanced development of his personality and emotionality and his ability to support the joys and the sorrows of life by maintaining the balance of aspirations, ideas, feelings, thoughts and culture. Mental illness is a change in a person’s thoughts, past and future. Thus, all of these were found in Nurya. Some of the major causes for his mental illness are heredity, personality defects, body structure, ambient environment, addiction to alcohol and stress
After entering the shelter home, his life transformed with access to food, shelter, healthcare, and hygiene. He received emotional support, economical support, and a chance to rebuild his dignity. This environment fosters safety, community, and opportunities for a brighter future. He was diagnosed with hypermetropia and was admitted in the Mahatma eye bank hospital, where he got medical support and the needed treatment. Later, he was also admitted to NMC hospital for his physical and mental well being.
After treatment, he was admitted at Mandeep Foundation Psychiatric Shelter Centre under the prospect of Psychiatric Beggar Beneficiary.
