Astha Rehabilitation Shelter is a pioneering initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of beggars and homeless individuals by providing them with shelter, rehabilitation, and skill development. Established in April 2022, this initiative is a joint effort by the Sahyadri Foundation, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, the shelter aims to create a beggar-free city by empowering individuals through structured rehabilitation and social reintegration programs.

To break the cycle of homelessness and begging, we offer vocational training programs tailored to the abilities and interests of our beneficiaries. Training includes tailoring, carpentry, handicrafts, and other livelihood skills that enable them to find employment or start small businesses.
Reintegrating individuals with their families is a crucial part of our program. Our team works to locate and counsel family members, facilitating a smooth
We engage with local businesses, NGOs, and community organizations to provide job opportunities and financial assistance for self-employment, ensuring long-term stability for rehabilitated individuals.
